The ARTfx Observer  |  November 2026

Since 1983, ARTfx has designed, fabricated, and installed signs and exhibits alongside some of the most respected designers, architects, artists, and institutions in the Northeast. Five of them recently sat down in front of the camera.

Alexander Isley Inc.

From his studio in Redding, Connecticut, designer, Alexander Isley, has partnered with ARTfx on projects such as the Yiddish Book Center’s permanent exhibition in Amherst, Massachusetts, and the signs and donor recognition displays for The Lawrenceville School’s Tsai Field House in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

“I’ve worked with ARTfx for decades. They’re sort of my go-to partner whenever we need to do something unusual or complicated… They’ve never let me down. They’ve always delivered on time, on budget.”

Greylock Glen Outdoor Center

At the base of Mount Greylock, the tallest peak in Massachusetts, ARTfx designed and built a large-scale exhibit for the Town of Adams’ new outdoor center – plywood sculptural trees, animal tracks in the floor, and an illuminated ceiling sculpture with life-sized translucent acrylic cutouts of the Berkshires’ most notable birds.

“I almost feel like ARTfx knew our vision before we did.”

SOLIDUS

SOLIDUS, preeminent designers of complete interior environments and branding packages for financial institutions, coordinates with ARTfx on signage and architectural fabricated products for banks and credit unions, such as the metal canopy with individually perched letters at Sikorsky Credit Union and a sensational display wall at Windsor Federal Bank.

“ARTfx was great with executing what I had in my head. I would totally recommend ARTfx, their attention to detail, and their craftsmanship.”

Nicholas Tavares, Environmental Brand Designer, SOLIDUS

Lost in New Haven

Located near the center of New Haven, Connecticut, Lost in New Haven, is a growing museum founded by Robert Greenberg. Out front, its identity sign features seamless, friction-fit channel letters and a glowing red acrylic ball as the head of a 54″ long map pin. Inside, antique signs from the collection were authentically restored by ARTfx.

“They really overcome any challenge that I’ve given them. And with a degree of accuracy that I’ve never seen before.”

Wu Tsai Institute, Yale University

For Yale’s Wu Tsai Institute, ARTfx built a 40″ high x 9′-10″ long floating acrylic diffuser panel, packed with multiple intensities of LED modules, to backlight Saliency, La Memoria Cangiante, a large-scale, mixed media painting by artist, Serena Scapagnini, of Rome, Italy.

“To work with fabricators that understand art at this level allows the work to be completed by their view and suggestion, every single detail.”

Serena Scapagnini, Artist-in-Residence, Wu Tsai Institute, Yale University

Thank you to Alexander Isley, Donna Cesan, Nicholas Tavares, Robert Greenberg, and Serena Scapagnini for their kind words, and for their faith in ARTfx!
