The band, Kiss, asked ARTfx to provide a sign for the interior back wall of their new coffeehouse in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We were challenged to make the sign look like a stage prop, lit with dozens of incandescent light bulbs. However, who was going to change light bulbs for the next 20 years? ARTfx manufactured the sign with plate aluminum and machined acrylic, which looks like what was requested, but is actually lit from behind with just a few low-maintenance fluorescent tubes.
